Healthy diet and exercise are not enough for a perfect body. Hereditary and gender-related factors are associated with unsightly accumulation of fat in parts of the body that prove difficult to get rid of. We find that despite the diet these signs do not go away or they improve temporarily and come back as soon as we gain a few kilos. We have tried everything, but in vain.

In women these areas are usually the buttocks, thighs, knees, abdomen and less often the arms.

In men, the accumulation of fat is observed around the waist, in the abdomen and sometimes in the breast.

Liposuction - liposculpture can definitively solve the problem.

The technique in which fat cells are harvested from the area with tiny incisions and special very fine cannulas. Very often this fat after minor processing can be repositioned, giving the plastic surgeon the possibility to sculpt the body restoring harmony and symmetry. A part of the fat transferred can be absorbed but with the right technique most of it remains for many years. Thus, the fat can be placed to give volume to very thin calves or the upper part of the buttocks, but also to the face (lips, nasolabial, etc.)

The new, more sophisticated techniques used today give excellent results with great safety, changing the contours of the body. It is good to emphasize that it is not a weight loss method. It addresses body parts in which fat cells are found in increased numbers. Fat cells in adults do not multiply and do not return to the area after their removal, achieving a permanent change in body contour.

The procedure of the operation

Before the operation, a detailed examination of the area is carried out, the quality and elasticity of the skin is assessed and a complete history is taken. Then the problem areas are drawn in detail and pre-operative photos are taken. The process is facilitated by saturating the area with a special solution that minimizes blood loss and helps the harvest of fat cells.

The operation does not require general anesthesia and after a few hours stay in hospital we return home wearing the special elastic corset. We can return to our usual activities in 3-4 days depending on the size of the liposuction and to the gym after a month. The area shows bruising and swelling, spots that gradually subside. The most suitable time is the cold months of the year so that the elastic corset under the clothes can be tolerated without a problem. The most common complications are micro-abnormalities of the surface, impressions and asymmetries of the area. Rarely, a minor correction may be needed after a semester. The risks are minimized if the operation is performed by an experienced plastic surgeon and in an organized hospital not in a doctor's office or other place.

Liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries for both sexes.

It is the most appropriate, scientific way to permanently improve the contour of the body. Big asymmetries or small imperfections can be corrected, giving us the body we dream of, increasing our self-confidence, improving our psychology.
